Working as a social enterprise, Senmai is a knowledge house aspiring to nurture creativity and skills of artisans and non-artisans alike. The house aims to impart knowledge to younger generations of Lao to build their capacity to create and continue nurturing this knowledge for perpetuity.
Its mission is to preserve, conserve, sustain, educate, and inspire. SenMai connects international artists and designers and researchers with local artisans of diverse cultural backgrounds to create unique designs and products. SenMai creates niche markets for these products, creating financial and social benefit to the artisans.
